If you have been watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta this season, then you will have noticed that there is an episode toward the beginning of the season where housewife Nene Leakes and Lisa Wu-Hartwell are running in their neighborhood. While Lisa looks to be in the best shape of her life, Nene is barely keeping up, though she is not ashamed to admit that she likes to eat which is the reason why she is a 10 and not an 8! We also see moments of Sheree’s workout routine which involves a personal trainer who helps her to do an extensive strength training and weight lifting regimen that keeps her, as she would say, “looking like a hot 20 year old”. Well, maybe she doesn’t look 20, but she definitely looks great! So what can we learn from these housewives? Well the importance of exercise! As Lisa so greatly exemplified, it is important to keep cardio as an important part of one’s daily routine. If you don’t like runnning outdoors and would prefer to be watching the Real Housewives while working out, try getting a Nordic Track.

As you begin counting down the days back to school for you or your kids, begin counting down the pounds as well! You don’t have to feel bad if you missed your summer weight loss goals, because it’s always a great time to lose weight. I have to admit that I kind of fell off of the wagon myself, but that just means I have to get back on it. I plan on getting on a healthy meal plan and will begin running everyday on my new treadmill. I know that I will look great in no time, and so can you!

But for those of you who have not reached your weight loss goals for this summer, it’s not too late! I often find that many of us do take part in a consistent workout plan, but we don’t change it up often enough to do our bodies the maximum good in the long run. So the advice for today is to switch up your workout plan. Work harder in the same amount of time you usually devote to working out. Increase your intensity level and even change the exercises you’ve been doing. I have recently added a daily run to my workout regimen and have found that it has really helped!
