5 Muscle - Killing Mistakes (Part 3 of 5)

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Let’s get right to it.

# 3 Starvation

Bottom line is that this never works, is never safe and should never be attempted. Your muscles and organs need food to help you survive.  Also, eating more frequently actually speeds your metabolism. The solution here is again simple. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and never cut your food intake by more than 15% or 500 calories.

Part 4 is coming soon and by the way, one of my personal favorites. :)

5 Muscle - Killing Mistakes (Part 2 of 5)

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Here we go with part 2 of 5.  I do hope you enjoyed part 1.

#2 Too much cardio

For men, research shows that extended aerobic training (treadmill etc.) has an opposite effect.  Rather than burn fat, it causes you to burn muscle as well. The simple solution here is to do your aerobic exercises in short bursts rathan than extending over a long period of time.

Get ready becauase Part 3 is coming soon!

5 Muscle - Killing Mistakes (Part 1 of 5)

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Here is the challenge.  You put in all the blood, sweat and tears yet you see little if any results. In the next few posts, I’m going to outline 5 mistakes most people make when looking to increase their muscles.

# 1 Doing too many isolation exercises

Isolation moves are great but you must also include a few basic exercises to your workout mix. The basic moves really allow multiple muscles to work together, thereby increasing testosterone levels. The simple way to fix this is to make sure that at least 40 - 50% of the exercising you do works more than one muscle.

Part 2 is coming shortly! :)

Mental Tricks to Cut Your Food Cravings

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

I was reading an article that I thought I’d share from today.  It gave a more in depth discussion of these ideas however you’ll get enough here to get started.  Now, I have to admit that the 3 steps they gave to stop cut food cravings are a bit unusual.

#1 Pinch Yourself - I know how it sounds but according to this article, if you pinch your nostrils or your earlobes for 10 seconds, your hunger pangs will subside.

#2 Use 100-Watt Light Bulbs - This one is easy. Dim lights make you eat more and brighter lights make you eat less.  Don’t believe it?  Visit your favorite resturant and then tell me what you think.

#3 Think Healthy Not Thin - The idea here is that you will become more successful as it relates to long term weight loss by chaning your focus.  Don’t be diet minded rather be health minded.

There you have it, 3 easy ways to trick your mind into thinking your not as hungry as you might have thought.

The Real Reason Models Looks So Good on TV

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Okay everyone, you are in for a very special treat today.  I am about toconfirm what you have all heard but never really knew to be true.  Runway models are a prime example of the truth of my next statement. “The camera really does add 10 pounds to you.” Don’t believe me? Look at me doing an interview for a local television station.  If I’m not huge in that video, then who is?

Do You Know What’s On The Menu

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I have a question for you.  When is the last time you stood in a school lunch line. If it has been a while, you may be in for quite a suprise.  Consider this, the average child eats sugary cereal or donuts for breakfast.  Then, at lunch they chow down on greasy pizza and drink high sugar ladened syrup filled sodas.  Finally they head home for a night of salty chips and Muarchen noodles. What do you think the future holds for this type of child.  Consider packing a lunch for your kids.  I’d also encourage you to take a lunch break from work and witness for yourself what’s on the menu.

What’s Your Fitness Routine

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

This post is simple and to the point. Success can be defined as having the discipline to do daily what the unsuccessful do occasionally.  My question to you is this.  Is what you are doing daily characteristic of a healthy person or an unhealthy person? If the daily discipline is right, there would not be a need for any type of diets that work.
