Who is Your Fitness Role Model?

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Recently I had a co-worker of mine make a dramatic shift in what they ate and how they lived.  This guy, who by the way is about 56 years young, has radically changed his diet and exercise routine.  I have personally seen him drop well over 30 pounds.  His tranformation is inspiring.  My question to you is, who is your fitness role model?  Is there a real live person with whom you have a relationship that you can look to for inspiration and motivation? If not, find one.  Tell them about your desire to improve your diet, your health, your life. It may be exactly what you need to ultimately succeed.

If you ever want to know what the simplest thing you can do to quickly improve your health simply visit www.Google.com and search for “benefit of water consumption” and you’ll be in for a surprise.  Making a radical change in your diet overnight is difficult but minor changes over time are a bit more realistic.  Do the search, read the results and make the necessary change. Finally, measure your results. I trust you’ll be surprised.

The Day After…Are You In Need of Recovery?

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Well it’s the day after Thanksgiving and I have to admit that I did better than expected.  Normally I would have eaten until my little belly screamed for me to stop but this year was different.  Maybe the moon was aligned with Saturn or something but everything went well.  How about you, were you able to eat in moderation as they say. If so, you should be proud.

Turkey Day is Upon Us

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

As I sit and reflect on my life, the past year and the many blessings that have come my way this year, I am overwhelmed.  Today let’s slow down.  Let’s remove our shoes and run our toes through the grass.  Let’s appreciate the laughter and joy in our children’s faces.  Let’s be here now. And, most importantly, let’s love our bodies just the way they are.  Diet and weight loss are fine however they stem from a true love for self on which true and lasting weightloss can be built.

A Happy Thanksgiving With No Regrets

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Thursday’s the BIG day for eating too much and sleeping too long.  Here’s something you never thought you’d hear from a website dedicated to helping you lose weight.  Are you ready?  Eat, Eat, Eat, Eat, Eat

I know you probably think the last thing you need to do is eat however I take different view.  Thanksgiving is a day of celebration. Celebration of life, family and food.  So eat, drink and be merry.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! : )

The Fastest Way to a Healthier You

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Recently I had a friend have a major auto accident and this evening I visited him, his wife and family in the hospital.  As I was waiting, I stopped by the bookstore of the hospital and found a book titled, “Get Healthy Through Detox And Fasting” by Dr. Don Colbert.  In it Dr. Colbert talks about how fasting may be the key to removing toxins from your body.  While it may appear a daunting task to attempt a fast, several helpful tips are included.  Fasting has been proven to benefit most who try it however it is very important that you consult your physician before begining a fast.  My wife and I have set days in the week when we fast and do so as a family affair.  If you are able and your physician agrees, why not try a brief fast?

How to Maintain Lasting Weight Loss

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Recently I heard the results of some new research study where a healthy diet combined with regular exercise was found to be beneficial in maintaining the weight lost during dieting.  My first thought was to say DUH. How do you maintain that fabulous new body you’ve acquired from using one of the major diet programs? The answer is very simple, eat less and exercise more.

Hey, maybe I should publish my own research study. Talk about stating the obvious.

20 Minutes a Day and Only 3 Days a Week

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

When I got home from church this morning I followed my normal routine of channel surfing, looking for something of value to watch as I waited for my wife to finish dinner.  Well, as I was flipping through the stations, I noticed an informercial.  You know the type, sit down, do nothing and magically the pounds melt off.

This particular product that was being advertised was probably the most unbelieveable of all that I have seen.  They litterally had this guy who had the body of a Greek god working out on this machine as state that if I can spend only 20 minutes a day for only 3 days a week, I could look like him.  Guess what though…it’s true.

The problem with most of these products whether they be for exercise or dieting is not the product themselves but our inability to follow the perscription, the detailed plan of action. Don’t be fooled by big promises of dramatic weight loss.  Before you try any program, ask yourself are you willing to work for your results.  The bottom line is that it works if you work it.  Take a look at another of my recent articles about a similar diet and exercise topic.

Do You Make This Mistake When Choosing What to Eat?

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

It happened again today.  My wife asked me to run to the local fresh fish market to get her some Talapia. I did so but on the way back home what do you think I did?  Of course I let the little devil on my shoulder talk me into a major food mistake.  I stopped by a local fast food resturant to pick myself something up to eat.  Well, you can guess what happened.

I of course tasted my artery clogging fast food and it was less than appealing.  I ended up throwing the better part of it away.  $6.00 wasted on bad and unhealthy food. My wife on the other hand happily enjoyed her fish with a grin.  When will I ever learn my lesson?  Next time I am sure I’ll make a better choice. : )

What about you?
