Say Yes to Carbs

January 1st, 2009

It’s very important to know and understand how foods are broken down. Always make sure to eat a variety of food for a healthy diet. Carbohydrates are your body’s main energy source. There are plenty of diets that work in helping you learn how to make the right portions of food. There are two different types of carbs, so please don’t get confused, when people tell you to do away with them, because they are important. Complex carbs are included in legumes, grains and starchy vegetables (potatoes, peas, and corn). While simple carbs (sugars) are mostly found in fruits and milk, and of course sweets (i.e. candy). You really want to get a lot of the complex carbs (especially whole grains and beans) and from the simple side, eat more fruits!

December 29th, 2008

It’s almost the New Year, and resolutions are just around the corner. Don’t make an empty resolution to yourself this New Year! Weight loss resolutions are at the top of most people’s list, but sticking to them is not always easy. A great way to be successful with your resolutions is to make your goals specific, realistic, and attainable. Setting up a goal to lose 50 pounds may sound great, but it is a very sizeable goal and such lofty goals could get you discouraged. Making modest goals with small targets will help you to make sure that you can reach your goals successfully.

Make a Resolution!

December 27th, 2008

It may seem ridiculously obvious, but eating right is one of the first steps in living a healthy life. Your diet should consist of the proper nutrients and energy you need to survive. Choosing the right foods is indeed essential! While you are striving to improve your diet and combine that with daily physical activity, it may be useful to give your body a total remodeling, by doing a dual action cleanse. Cleansing is very beneficial, because it can clear your digestive tract of gunky build-up, help you lose unnecessary fats, and in some cases even clear skin tones. It’s good to cleanse the body 2-4 times a year, since we do have years of build-up. Let’s make a New Year’s resolution and live cleaner!

Say Bye Bye to Holiday Fat

November 12th, 2008

The holidays will soon be here, and let’s face it,so will lots of food.  We’ll all be cramming our faces with turkey, dressing, cobbler, and more.  With all that eating, it’s easy to overload our digestive systems, leaving lots of unwanted waste in our bodies.  This is proven to be not only a weight-adder, but also extremely unhealthy for our bodies. Most doctors now recommend adding a colon cleanse to your regular regimen.  The majority of us regular people can not afford to get a colonic at the doctor’s office, but there are other options available.  Dual Action Cleanse is a great option for cleaning your digestive track, without the added expense of going to the doctor.

We also know, that we will all be over eating on two big days: Thanksgiving and Christmas.  So don’t wait to begin weight loss after Christmas and Thankgiving when the damage is already done.  You can do damage control now by eating healthier, proportioned meals today. The Medifast Diet is a great place to get good, healthy meals that will save your waste line during the holiday season.

So two things to remember: cleanse your digestive system to prepare it for the holiday overload, and eat healthy now, so you can pig out later and not feel bad. Combine these two things this holiday season, and you’ll be sure to look great and feel great!

Looking for a Place to Exercise?

October 25th, 2008

If you are looking for a place to stretch your legs and get some exercise, you might try your nearest college campus.  I realize this may sound strange but contrary to what many so called “mall walkers” might have you believe, there is an alternative to getting your exercise by walking through the malls.  The next time you think about going for a walk or a jog, I want you to travel to your local university.  What you’ll find is acres and acres of land covered with lush green grass and trees depending on where you live.  The air is cool and the trails and sidewalks are bustling with youth and energy.  Go ahead, give it a try and tell me what you think.  http://www.parenttalk.org
